One of the many frustrations we experience is finding a borehole well, constructed to bring clean water to a village, not functioning because it is in need of repair. During our visit to Kijambura in February, this was exactly the case. Children were, once again, forced to walk miles to bring clean water back to their homes and school. Due to the generosity of team members, funds were provided to make the necessary repairs. We just received word that the well is functioning again! We are thankful for donors who changed the lives of our friends in Kijambura!

We were so thrilled to hear late last night that Jackline has been discharged from the hospital in Jinja! This sweet thing, on the right, has that beautiful smile back on her face after having surgery on her tonsils last week. Jackline is sponsored by Jerry and Amy Mayo who, with the help of their friends, provided the funds necessary to get Jackline the help she needed. She had suffered from swollen tonsils and throat issues for some time. It was brought to our attention during our visit in February. Jerry returned home and went to work, telling her story. Not surprisingly, he found other people wanted to help. Today, Jackline is back at home with her mother and getting ready to go back to school. Many thanks to those who helped make this a story of compassion and healing! |
